A Southwest Airlines flight bound for Orlando was forced to make an emergency landing in Pensacola Saturday when one of its engine failed mid-flight.

Flight 3472 experienced the issue shortly after leaving Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.

Passengers say they heard what sounded like a loud explosion before the plane began to tilt.

According to officials, the plane started shaking and oxygen masks were deployed as the plane descended.

Pictures of the damage quickly circulated on social media.

The Boeing 737 landed safely at Pensacola International Airport at about 9:40 a.m. None of the 99 passengers or five crew members were injured, Southwest said.

The FAA and The National Transportation and Safety Board are investigating the incident. It’s still unclear what caused the engine to fail.

The aircraft was taken out of service, Southwest said in a statement.

The airline worked with passengers to get them to Orlando or final destination.
