Traffic along Hibiscus Boulevard in Melbourne was stopped Thursday evening after a train hit a car on the tracks.

The incident happened on Hibiscus near U.S. 1.

Police say the driver tried to cross the tracks as the crossing bar lowered onto the vehicle.

The train hit the car in the rear, causing it to spin around.

The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution but it expected to be OK.

The road is now back open.
