General Mills is recalling more than 10 million pounds of flour because of a possible link to an E. coli outbreak.

  • General Mills recalling Gold Medal, Wondra and Signature Kitchens flour
  • Company is concerned about a possible link to E. coli outbreak
  • The products were sold at retailers across the U.S.

The recall includes Gold Medal, Wondra and Signature Kitchens flour brands.  All three brands were sold at Safeway, Albertsons, Jewel, Shaws, Vons, United, Randalls and Acme retailers.

As many as 38 cases of the illness have been reported in 20 states.  According to officials, at least 10 people have been hospitalized.

General Mills says E. coli has not been found in any of the company’s flour products or at any of its flour manufacturing facilities, but it is issuing the recall out of an abundance of caution.

Anyone who has the recalled flour is urged not to use it.
