Here's the weather forecast for Central Florida for the start of the week:

  • Scattered showers this afternoon
  • Highs in the mid-80s
  • Tropics quieting down

The end of our weekend was pretty quiet, with a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures in the mid to low 80s.

As winds picked up out of the east, we had a few showers move inland during the afternoon and evening. A similar forecast is in store for the next couple of days before a few changes move in by the end of the week.

Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. While most will be dry, there is a chance for a stray coastal shower as we head toward daybreak on Monday. Temperatures will fall to around 70 degrees.

No major weather changes are expected for the start of our work week. We’ll keep a mix of sun and clouds each day through Wednesday with a slight chance for a few passing showers. Temperatures will remain seasonable, in the mid to low 80s. There is a front expected to move in late in the week, increasing rain chances slightly and dropping temperatures back for the weekend.

In the tropics, Nicole is holding strong as a category 1 hurricane. This storm is well away from the United States and will continue to move farther away. In the next couple of days, Nicole will become a remnant low. There is also a cluster of thunderstorms over the Bahamas that we’ll need to watch this week. There is a small chance for tropical formation as these storms slowly drift east. The hurricane season does not end until November 30.
