The leader of a major Orange County drug ring has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Angel Fontanez, 32, along with seven others, was indicted on March 23.

Investigators with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force say the group targeted the tourist district near International Drive in Orlando.

According to court documents, the group called themselves “La Compania” and used a telephone hotline sell heroin to customers.

Fontanez faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years up to life in federal prison.

According to deputies, four of the defendants have been convicted of federal drug use.

A trial date of Oct. 24 has been set for the remaining members of the group.
