Three students were injured Monday morning in a school bus crash in Oviedo, according to Seminole County Fire Rescue officials.

The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. on West Chapman Road near the intersection with Wembley Place.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota Tacoma driven by 33-year-old Jason Clarke was traveling eastbound on Chapman Road.

The school bus had just finished picking up children when Clarke failed to stop and hit the back of it, the FHP release said.

Three children were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies said the bus driver, 46-year-old Gloria Austin, was not injured.

Clarke was charged with careless driving.

About 30 students were on the bus at the time of the crash, according to Michael Lawrence, spokesman for Seminole County Public Schools. The bus was headed to Oviedo High School.
