A motorcyclist is in serious condition after troopers says she was hit by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday morning.

It happened around 11 a.m. at the intersection of US-1 and Fay Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a grey Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling north on US-1.  The truck attempted to make a left turn onto Fay Boulevard and turned into the direct path of a motorcycle driven by 54-year-old Kathy Keller of Cocoa troopers said.

Troopers said the driver of the truck got out of his vehicle as bystanders stopped to assist the motorcyclist then got back into the pick-up and drove away.

Keller was transported to Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge in serious condition.

FHP said the pickup truck has damage to the right side from the crash and witnesses said it had existing damage on the driver's side. Anyone with information is asked to FHP at (407) 737- 2213.
