Two Orlando police officers have been fired after investigators say they mistreated a prisoner.

Officer Peter Delio was arrested back in March for battery charges.

Investigators say Delio used excessive force when he arrested Robert Liese for not paying his bar tab in August of 2014.

Delio says Liese was uncooperative and aggressive.

On Thursday, the Orlando Police Department announced that an internal investigation concluded Delio violated department regulations regarding the treatment of prisoners.

OPD also fired a sergeant in relation to this case.

Investigators say Sergeant Michael Faulkner violated regulations regarding truthfulness and the treatment of prisoners.

Police documents say Faulkner failed to get Liese medical attention when he asked for it, then lied to investigators, telling them Liese never asked for medical attention in the first place.

The criminal case against Officer Delio is ongoing.

So far, no charges have been filed against Sergeant Faulkner.
