Here's what you need to know for Central Florida's weather for Tuesday and the week ahead:

  • Fewer storms soon
  • Remaining hot
  • The tropics remain quiet at this time

A few isolated showers will be possible through midnight but most areas getting drops of rain will see an end to the rain much earlier. Lows will settle in the mid-70s throughout the night.

High pressure deepens through the atmosphere Wednesday, but we’ll keep just enough of a south component to our steering flow to bump rain chances to 30% coastal areas early on, and 40% interior into the mid-afternoon hours.

Highs will once again be in the lower 90s. By Thursday, our flow becomes more easterly, and with an onshore flow, the east coast sea breeze will quickly push west. We’ve scaled rain chances back to 20% Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Enjoy the sunshine, but as we decrease precip chances, we’ll increase the heat.

Highs are forecast to climb into the mid-90s, with a feels like temperature above 100. The ridge of high pressure weakens a bit by Sunday and into early next week. Rain chances bump back up to 40-50%, with highs in the lower 90s.

While it won't be entirely dry, the storms that form will be isolated and generally moving away from the east coast toward the interior. This setup should last into the weekend. Highs will continue to top out in the low- to mid-90s.

Meanwhile, the tropics remain quiet with no organized activity expected at least for the next two to five days.
