The voter fraud lawsuit from Eatonville's former mayor against current Mayor Anthony Grant has been dismissed.

A judge dismissed the charges Friday after Grant's attorney argued the complaint from former mayor Bruce Mount was not filed within 10 days, in accordance with state statutes.

Mount had alleged Grant committed voter fraud when he was elected in March.

The former mayor also contested the Orange County Canvassing Board's certification of the election, but at a hearing Tuesday, Grant's attorney said it was municipal canvassing board that certified the election, not the county's.

Grant has denied any wrongdoing. He's also under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, but the FDLE has not said why.
