A group of female students at the University of Central Florida said a man broke into their apartment, watched them sleep and even touched one of them before leaving.

The man wasn't arrested, and now Orange County deputies are looking for him.

The four roommates live at the Plaza Apartments on University Boulevard.

According to an Orange County Sheriff's Office report, a dark-skinned man broke into the apartment Monday night and watched two of the females sleep. He caressed one of them, deputies said.

"I know there are safety issues, but I didn't know it would get this bad," said Arjun Saxena, who lives at the apartment complex. "So, it does make me change my mind a little bit — more toward actually pushing me out of here."

A third female said she heard the man in their kitchen and then leave through the front door. She said he came back to the apartment a short time later. She watched him through the keyhole as he pulled on the door handle.

The group of females said the man turned the air conditioning down to 60 degrees and left the refrigerator door open.

The females said they lock the front door, but if the dead bolt was not turned all the way, it could be "jiggled" and unlocked.

The victims called security. A short time later, a security guard asked one of the females to identify a man found sitting on a bench in the complex. The female told security she believed it was the man. She said security told her the situation would be handled and they didn't have to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The females were advised by their parents to call 911, though.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office supervisor who filed the report said he wasn't able to get in contact with the security company, Signal888Security.

Angela Testa, regional manager for Plaza Apartments, released the following statement: "Our community has an electronic door locking system that requires a specific electronic key to open the door. The door at the unit where the incident occurred has been examined and is working properly. It has been reported by the police that there has been no forced entry at the unit."
