The wife of a man hit and killed while changing a tire on U.S. 192 in Saint Cloud is now begging for the public's help to find his killed.

It was almost 7:30 Thursday night when Gerald Watson from Brevard County pulled over because of a flat tire. Watson left his wife inside the car.

"I heard the first sound and I said what was that? He said, 'I think we have a blown tire', and I said 'I think you're right.' So he pulled over," said Lynne Watson, Gerald's wife.

Investigators believe Watson was hit by a large truck or van, but the vehicle fled before his wife saw it.

"Then I heard another big thud. And I called out, 'Gerald are you okay?' He didn't -- he didn't answer me," Lynne said.

"I was screaming for someone to help us. But no one pulled over for what felt like a long time," she said.

Gerald Watson died there on the road.

When the Florida Highway Patrol arrived they scoured the area, looking for any clues. But so far they haven't found any evidence.

Now the family Gerald Watson left behind hopes the man they loved gets justice.

"They had to have seen us. We were right there! There was nothing else around! It was broad daylight," Lynne said.

FHP believes there may be marks or dents to the right side of the vehicle that struck Watson.

They are asking for the public's help. Anyone with information about this crash to contact Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
