A 21-year-old man is accused of crucifying a cat and leaving it at a Lake County church back in February.
The cat was found outside the Real Life Church in Clermont on a cross with a biblical message written on it:
“Thou shalt not make my father’s house a den of thieves. Matthew 7:3, ye hypocrites”
Clermont Police arrested William Saunders after speaking with several witnesses and leads. Many of them allegedly told police that Saunders told them the cat was already dead when it was crucified.
Saunders is charged with unlawful disposal of the body of a dead animal.
