The man who walked across Niagara Falls said he will perform his next death-defying stunt in Orlando.

Tightrope walker Nik Wallenda announced Monday that he will walk on top of the 400-foot-high Orlando Eye at an event Wednesday, April 29.

Wallenda said he will walk across the outside rim of the observation wheel while the ride is running.

Wallenda, a Sarasota native, called the stunt dangerous, but said he would enjoy the view while he's up there.

The Orlando Eye is scheduled to open to the public May 4 as part of the new I-Drive 360 complex.

Wallenda won't be the first person to scale the Orlando Eye. Just last week, 70 Orange County firefighters climbed the 400-foot wheel as part of a competition to be on the special response team that would be prepared to make rescues from the attraction in case of an emergency.
