An Edgewater man was killed Thursday evening after troopers say he hit a tree in Volusia County.
It happened at Volco Road and Beacon Light Road south of Edgewater.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 29-year-old Scott Rice was speeding down the road and lost control of the pickup truck he was driving, ran off the road and hit the tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
