A burglar broke into 17 cars and now people who live in an Orlando neighborhood are worried.

It happened at the Summer Gate Condominiums near Conroy Road just east of South Kirkman Road. Orlando Police said there were a total of 17 cars burglaries in the area.

Fourteen of those burglaries happened Sunday night, into Monday morning.

Brooke Dahn couldn't believe it when she saw the window of her white Hyundai smashed Monday morning.

"I was trying to stay calm but obviously it was disappointing. I just didn't feel safe," said Dahn.

Nothing was taken but it was clear the person went through the car.

"They had definitely looked through everything, but nothing was stolen and I can't say that for everyone," Dahn said.

According to police reports, other victims had things stolen like cash, credit cards, a wallet and an iPod.

Julio Barizon lives nearby and said he saw a suspicious looking man near several of the cars that were broken into early Monday morning. He said it appears the man was shaking glass out of his t-shirt.

"I heard a big noise, two, like boom boom," Barizon said, "And I was like 'what the hell is that?'"

Barizon spoke with police but so far no one has been arrested.

The burglar possibly used a tool to smash the windows. Victims are hoping the crimes were caught on surveillance video.

Orlando Police said they encourage people to lock their valuables in the trunk or take them inside.

Dahn says this was a learning experience. "It was really upsetting yesterday, just looking back on it I was just off. "

OPD said they will definitely make it their focus to say visible in this area. If you know anything you are asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
