The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a robbery of a Deltona grocery store that happened Saturday night.

The robbery happened around 9:28 p.m., at the Winn-Dixie located at 2880 Howland Blvd., in Deltona.

An adult man wearing a hoodie-style jacket walked up to a cashier and demanded to know where the manager was. The manager approached the suspect, who then ordered the manager to go to the store's office.

Once there, the suspect — who implied he had some type of weapon — ordered the manager to hand over some cash.

The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, deputies said.

During the robbery, the man lifted his shirt to show something in his waistband, but he didn't pull out whatever it was, deputies said.

Deputies said the suspect is between 5-feet, 2-inches tall and 5-feet, 4-inches tall.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS (8477).

The Sheriff's Office is also investigating an armed robbery of a Kangaroo convenience store that occurred Wednesday, Sept. 17, along Howland Boulevard, in Deltona.
