Duke Energy crews have restored power to nearly 2,100 customers, including Timber Creek High School in East Orange County.
The outage was first reported around 6:30 a.m. along Avalon Park Boulevard.
Students were evacuated to the school's courtyard.
The high school is also serving as a polling precinct in today's primary election.
Power was fully restored by 8:30 a.m.
The company said the outage was caused by an equipment failure.
