Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office are trying to find out more information about human bones that were discovered in a wooded area just north of Fort McCoy on County Road 315.

The Sheriff's Office's Special Investigations Unit responded to the area Aug. 18 along with the Evidence Unit and the Medical Examiner's Office to investigate the discovery and try to determine an identity and cause of death.

Detectives don't have much to go on but are hoping the Medical Examiner's Office can help answer questions.

Detectives are also asking for the public's help if they saw anything suspicious in the area over the last few weeks.

The human bones were found just inside a fenced-in area.

No names have been released.

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP (7867).
