The owner of a towing company in Orange County was arrested Friday, accused of illegally towing tourists during last month's Gay Days celebration.

Jason Combs is the owner of ASAP Towing in Orange County.

The 45-year-old is accused of predatory towing and grand theft in the parking lot at the Westwood Town Center. That is across the street from the DoubleTree Hotel off International Drive, which served as the host hotel for Gay Days.

Investigators said if they uncover Combs was specifically targeting gay, lesbian and transgendered people this may become a hate crime.

"Absolutely and we're in the process of reaching out to our contacts to further investigate and see if he was specifically targeting this group of people," explained Orange County Sheriff's Office Corporal Richard Schmeltzer, with the Tourist Oriented Policing Squad.

According to jail records, Combs is facing nearly 100 charges related to this investigation.

Right now, the 45-year-old is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.
