A Seminole High School teacher is suspended without pay after school officials say he had an inappropriate relationship with a female student in Seminole County.

School leaders said this is the second time Larry Bell has gotten in trouble for this type of behavior.

The student and Bell, a physical education teacher, apparently exchanged more than 200 text messages.

School leaders said they were informed by the girl’s mother who also called the Sanford Police Department.

Police also said Bell apparently co-signed a lease for an apartment for the 17-year-old girl.

He has not been arrested for any crime. However, school officials said his behavior is not proper conduct for a school setting.

According to officials, Bell and the teen said there was no physical contact and they had a father-daughter type relationship.

School leaders said Bell was investigated during the 2010-2011 school year for having an appropriate relationship with a 16-year-old female student.

They said he was warned that he would be fired if it were to happen again.
