Lake County Sheriff's deputies arrest a man they say had sex with a teenage runaway.
A deputy pulled over Robert Regan, of Groveland, late Friday, Feb. 28 and found a 16-year-old girl in the car.
She originally claimed to be Regan’s niece, but later admitted to running away.
Deputies said the 36-year-old met the girl online. The teen admitted Regan picked her up approximately a week ago at her Mississippi home.
After spending time in Pensacola, the pair then made their way to Lake County.
The girl admitted to having sex with him on numerous occasions.
The teen was turned over to her father, who was in Orlando on vacation.
Regan was charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity, unlawful sexual activity with a minor, lewd or lascivious battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
He remains in the Lake County jail without bond.
