The investigation continues in Volusia County after a skateboarder was hit by a car and killed Monday afternoon.
The South Daytona Beach Police Department said Jody Ann Arcuri, 31, of Ormond Beach was traveling north on U.S. 1 when she veered off the road and hit 22-year-old Stephen Michael Wilson.
Police said they don't know whether Wilson was on his skateboard, or carrying it, because of conflicting witness accounts.
Investigators said Arcuri had pills and a crack pipe in her car and was given a field sobriety test and had to be handcuffed because she became so upset.
Officers eventually had to Baker Act her because she was threatening to harm herself.
Arcuri was charged with felony possession of drugs and booked into the Volusia County Jail. Police said other charges are pending toxicology results from a crime lab.
