A Lake County teenager is in trouble over a realistic-looking replica firearm that deputies said he brought to Mount Dora High School.

Deputies arrested the 17-year-old Friday afternoon after students reported seeing the teen with what looked like a handgun.

The weapon, found inside a bathroom trash can, turned out to be an airsoft pistol, a replica gun that uses compressed air to fire plastic pellets.

The teen has been charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, and was turned over to his parents.
