The family of the man who fell to his death from a ropes course on International Drive has filed a lawsuit.

Robert Belvoir's daughter is suing the owners of the Sky Trail at Artegon Marketplace after her father fell 30 feet from the attraction on Christmas Eve.

The lawsuit also includes the manufacturer, installer and the Artegon Marketplace.

Attorney Mark Nation said Belvoir was on the zip line portion of the Sky Trail, when his harness came directly out of the track, causing him to fall 30 feet to the floor. Belvoir died later that night at Dr. Phillips Hospital.

"My goal is to make a difference, to make a change, and the quickest and best way to do that is file this lawsuit and get discovery going, where I can sit people down with depositions and subpoenas, and get the documents and the records and figure out exactly what happened, and make a difference," said Nation.

The owner of the Sky Trail told News 13 the ropes course portion of the attraction has reopened following local and state clearance, but the zip line portion remains closed until further notice. Sky Trail's owners, which are also conducting its own investigation, said they have isolated the problem to a zip line component that failed, and a safety alert has been issued.

The Sky Trail opened in November with the Artegon Orlando Marketplace, formerly the Festival Bay Mall.
