A 98-year-old woman is back in her Orange County home after about 40 volunteers helped make her it livable again.

Elizabeth Smith was found living in deplorable conditions at her house in Orlando.

An organization called Girls Standing Together was able to round up the volunteers to help with $70,000 worth of renovations.

"What we did was move Mrs. Smith out of the home, started soliciting for community stakeholders and different people that we know throughout the community to donate materials. Sweat equity,” said Orlando District 5 Commissioner Regina Hill.

The project took approximately four months to complete with volunteers renovating the entire home from the floors to the roof.

New appliances, cabinets and counters were installed in the home. Smith also received all new furniture.
