A man who deputies say punched a woman in front of her toddler then raped her is considered too dangerous to be released on bond.

According to a Volusia County judge, 32-year-old Jonathan Angiluuso's  status is of "violent felony concern."

He is accused of attacking the mother in front of her 3-year-old before raping her, then allegedly choking her until she blacked out.

He claimed the sex was consensual. Deputies say it was rape.

Deputies say Angilusso went to a birthday party Saturday in Ormond Beach, and he asked a couple for a ride to Deltona where the boyfriend and girlfriend lived with their toddler.

The couple was arguing when deputies say Angiluuso convinced the boyfriend to leave so he could cool off.

"Almost as soon as the boyfriend was out of the house, he hauled off and punched the victim in the face right in front of the 3-year-old child. And then forced her into a bedroom where he forced her into sex acts." said Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman, Gary Davidson.

The victim told deputies that once the rape was over she tried getting away but that Angilusso choked her to the point where she blacked out twice.

She told detectives when she came to she was attacked a third time and thrown into a closet.

The victim finally managed to escape running with nothing but a shirt on as she frantically called her boyfriend who called 911 and took her to Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City.

Nurses treated the victim's injuries and called the sheriff's office to report the rape. Angilusso was arrested and maintained the sex was consensual.

"His story was not believable. All the evidence, including the evidence in the victim's home, the injuries to the victim all consistent with the defendant attacking her." said Davidson.

Angilusso's wife pleaded with the judge to give her husband a bond, the judge declined, keeping Angilusso behind bars with no bond.

Angilusso was charged with kidnapping and sexual battery, and was also arrested for an an outstanding warrant for public assistance fraud. In addition, Angilusso has a previous arrest for resisting an officer with violence.
