A man who was caught drinking alcohol inside a parking garage at Universal Orlando Resort was arrested after he tried to tell authorities he was a police officer.

An Orlando Police Department officer was dispatched to a parking garage at Universal Studios around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in reference to a possible drug offense.

When the police officer arrived, he observed a man, later identified as 34-year-old David Littlefield, of New Jersey, in a dispute with a Universal security supervisor.

Littlefield was drinking from a clear plastic water bottle as the officer approached him, the report states.

The officer informed Littlefield that he couldn't drink alcohol on the premises, but Littlefield replied, "I'm a cop," the report states.

The man then drank the liquid from the bottle. After he was told for a second time that he wasn't allowed to consume alcohol on the premises, Littlefield pulled out a wallet and opened it up, again stating that he's "a cop."

According to the report, the wallet contained a small badge. When the officer tried to identify the badge, Littlefield snatched it out of the officer's hand and said, "I expect common courtesy."

The officer, according to the report, recognized the badge as one that's given as a courtesy to family members of law enforcement and is not an identification of a sworn police officer.

After being handcuffed and taken to the security tent, Littlefield told authorities, "OK, my brother is on the job," the report states.

Littlefield was arrested and charged with falsely impersonating an officer.

The report states Littlefield "seemed to be under the influence of an alcoholic substance and had the odor of alcohol coming from his breath."

He was transported to the Orange County Jail.
