A deadly drive-by shooting outside a Best Buy in Seminole County has shut down State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs while police investigate, causing major traffic delays in the area of Montgomery Road and State Road 436, just west of I-4. The road has since reopened.

Altamonte Springs police said a man was shot and killed around 1:45 p.m. Monday just outside the store. Investigators said they have taken two men in custody.

Police said Tevin Davis, 22, was walking with a friend along State Road 436, when the suspects pulled up next to them, unleashing a hail of bullets. In all, 10 to 15 shots were fired. Some hit Davis, while others left bullet holes in stop signs and vehicles in the Best Buy parking lot.

Keith Shipp, of Orlando, was inside the Best Buy when the shooting happened.

"If I wouldn't have been in the store as long as I was, I could have gone out and maybe gotten a bullet in me, or my fianc could have gotten a bullet in her," Shipp said. "That's just scary."

After a short pursuit, police took the suspects into custody in Longwood, on State Road 434 in front of South Seminole Hospital.

The suspects are identified as brothers -- Manuel Rodriguez and Christopher Rodriguez. While the motive is unknown, police said the three knew each other.

"This is a very busy road, but it's a quiet part of town," Officer Pelton said. "Altamonte Springs doesn't normally see things like this, but we are working this investigation. It is isolated and, again, we have both suspects in custody. So, there's no need to fear that there are gunmen on the loose."
