First came the Sorcerers. Now, there be pirates ahead.

New at Walt Disney World is an interactive adventure based on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. It's called "A Pirate's Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas," found only inside Adventureland.

Here's the deal. It's your job to help Captain Jack Sparrow protect Adventureland from the British Navy and other pirate enemies, like Captain Barbossa and the greatest threat of all, Calypso, the sea goddess. Captain Jack found 2 treasures already, but he needs to find 5 more.

Guests will use a pirate map and a magic talisman (game card) to help them complete five different "pirate raids" within the Adventureland area. Each raid is comprised of a series of interactive tasks.

If you successfully help Captain Jack Sparrow in his missions, you will be welcome as part of his new crew. But those that don't will "face the wrath of the cruel sea -- alone."

"This is the first place we came when we got here and we're having fun!" smiled Sarah Fields, 20, visiting from Ontario, Canada. "Yea, this is awesome."

The particular raid selected for me sent me off to find "the snake charmer's flute" and to "touch your talisman to the cobra carving." Along the way, other adventurers clued me in on what I was up for.

"We just finished one with a snake where it starts spitting water at you," warned Roberto Herrera, 13, Miami.

"The snake popped out and sprayed water at us, which was kind of unexpected," Fields told me.

"It was kind of rude!" laughed her friend Michael Laporte, 20.

Yep, I got spit on. (In the words of Michelle Tanner, "How rude!") But at least I found out that my next adventure involved a panther. So off we went.

We found the mark of the panther inside a shop. His head is mounted inside a fancy cage of sorts. (TIP: notice his warm breath when you pass by).

"Yea, I think he's kind of freaky," Herrera admitted.

From red-eyed, talking skulls representing the spirits of dead pirates, to a treasure that "disappeared" before our eyes, the tasks are high-tech and visually compelling.

A Pirate's Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas is the second interactive game to come to the Magic Kingdom in just two years.

Last year, Disney launched "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom," which sends guests on a quest to discover and defeat various Disney villains hiding around the park and recover pieces of the wizard Merlin's missing crystal ball.
