You may have seen something strange over the skies of Central Florida this past week. A popular animated character was flying high to promote a brand new movie.
A 165 foot blimp-featuring a Minion from the movie Despicable Me was spotted floating over Florida. The Blimp is going across the country to promote the new Despicable Me 2 movie.
News 13 caught the “Despicablimp,” as its dubbed, over Paradise Beach in Melbourne Friday evening.
The Despicablimp is one of the largest airships in the world at 165-feet long, 55-feet high and 46-feet wide, and is one of only 15 flying today. The blimp will travel approximately 20,000 miles, crisscrossing the country three times over the course of its six-month journey with multiple stops across the continental U.S.
Despicable Me 2 opens in theaters July 3.
