The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the autopsy of Marlon Brown.

Brown was man run over and killed by a DeLand police officer earlier this year.

Last month, Brown's family and the funeral director disputed the autopsy report, which said Brown was not run over by Officer James

Harris' patrol car, but suffocated when he was pinned beneath it.

The autopsy also said there wasn't any evidence to show Brown was hit by the cruiser and ruled his death accidental.

But Brown's ex-wife, Krystal, asked the state to investigate her ex-husband's death and the chief medical examiner, saying the report doesn't make sense.

She said she received a letter from FDLE telling her if she has any additional evidence, she can submit it.

“We have contacted the Office of the District 7 Medical Examiner in order to obtain information from their files in this case, and we will keep you apprised of our investigation into this matter. In the meantime, please forward any additional materials that you would like us to review in the course of our investigation,” said the letter signed by Margaret Edwards, staff director for the Medical Examiners Commision.

The family plans on doing just that.
