Daytona Beach to Sanford on foot.

A group of about 30 students took its final steps of a 40-mile trek, all to make a statement in the name of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old shot and killed in February.

The students ended their journey at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where volunteers started early Sunday morning getting ready to host the group.

The goal: To fight what the group and many others following the investigation into Trayvon Martin's death perceive as injustice.

They want his shooter, George Zimmerman, behind bars. The neighborhood watch volunteer told police he acted in self-defense the night he shot the teen.

Led by two people holding a banner that read "We Are Trayvon Martin," the group of marchers, who call themselves the "Dream Defenders," is made up mostly of students from Florida colleges and universities, but also includes a few from as far as Georgia.

"It's beautiful. We're still keeping the momentum going," said Terell DePina, one of the marchers as the group approached the Seminole-Volusia County line. "Everybody is still active, and again, we are staying strong."

Police officers escorted the group the entire way from Daytona Beach to Sanford. The students walked 10 miles on Friday and another 14 on Saturday before finishing their trek Sunday afternoon.
