Larry Gaetano Puleo, 47, was sought on warrants when authorities went to look for him Thursday in the 4000 block of West Hamilton Avenue.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, deputies could hear someone in the home's attic and they ordered Puleo to surrender.

After about one hour and no response, authorities began looking for possible escape routes. The only one they could find was through an air conditioning duct in a bedroom.

Deputies cut a hole in the duct and found Puleo inside. Puleo pleaded for authorities to help him out because he was cold.

Larry Puleo was taken into custody after his removal from the air conditioning duct.

After Puleo was removed, he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment. He was then taken to Orient Road Jail, where he is being held without bond.

Puleo was sought on warrants for introduction of contraband into detention facility and possession of heroin.
