A Saturday morning crash in Polk County claimed the life of a young Osceola County man.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the victim as Francisco Dominguez, 18, of St. Cloud.

The crash occurred just after 3 a.m. on Interstate 4 eastbound at mile marker 35. Troopers said a 2008 Ford F-150 being driven by Edger Ramirez-Chavez, 19, of St. Cloud, overturned after traveling onto the shoulder.

Ramirez-Chavez was taken to Lakeland Regional for treatment for serious injuries. Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger, Leonel Benitez Cruz, was also taken to the hospital.

Troopers said none of the vehicle's occupants was wearing a seat belt.

Troopers said charges are pending and that the crash remains under investigation.
