Downtown St. Pete is about to shine more than usual.
The SHINE St. Petersburg Mural Festival officially gets underway Tuesday. Artists from all over the world will paint murals on buildings.
St. Pete resident Melanie Grindstaff said the murals that are already in the city are beautiful and she can't wait to see more.
“It’s sort of a welcoming vibe, especially for artists,” said Melanie Grindstaff. “Because around here I guess it just makes the area more colorful. So in my personal opinion I think that’s a good thing.”
Artists will create at least 10 large-scale murals on buildings.
Art exhibits will take place throughout St. Pete as well. The festival runs through September 12th.
