PHOENIX, Ariz. — In the national landscape, the odds seem to be stacked against UCF heading into their Fiesta Bowl matchup against LSU.

After the loss of quarterback McKenzie Milton for the rest of the season to a knee injury, the likelihood of a Knights victory seemed bleak by those outside of Central Florida.

UCF, though, has consistently changed the narrative in the past two years, and this time around, DJ Mack thinks it's his turn to pen the next chapter.

The redshirt freshman played the game of his life against Memphis in the American Athletic Conference Championship game earlier this month. He's earned the respect of his teammates, built confidence in himself, and gotten the mentorship of his injured starting quarterback.

That's enough for him to lead UCF to a possible victory New Year's Day.
