LAKE MARY, Fla - Lake Mary high school girls golf has long tradition of being one of the state’s best. Junior Izzy Pellot is one of the reasons the tradition keeps going.

"Her own golf speaks for itself, she is a phenomenal player. One of the most consistent I’ve had in 10 years I’ve been at Lake Mary," says Lake Mary golf coach Dennis Burchill.

"I’ve been playing since I was eight," says Pellot. "It’s kind of been in my family for a little bit, my dad played out of college just for fun, then he introduced me into golf." Coach Burchill says, "As a ninth grader she came to us and when it came to golf she was well ahead of her age group."

Her leadership was needed this year, as a junior she was named team captain which has only happened once in the last 10 years.

"We’ve hadn’t had many team practices this year because of everything that has been going on. We’ve been all practicing on our own and keeping a good mindset going into tournaments knowing we haven’t been practicing that much," says Pellot.
