The Orlando Pride can say they ended their disappointing season on a positive note.

Defender Toni Pressley checked into the game in the 72nd minute, playing her first game since an August 9 breast cancer diagnosis, and inspired the Orlando Pride to get a 2-2 draw over the Seattle Reign.

Pressley entered the game to applause from the crowd at Exploria Stadium and received a hug from Julie King before goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris gave her the captain's armband. The moment was a nice respite from what has been a disappointing season for the Pride.

It helped more that Pressley played a role in scoring the equalizing goal.

Pressley was on the near post on a corner kick in the 86th minute that forced a Seattle defender to clear the ball to the top of the box. That is where Marta was waiting to fire home a shot into the net for the equalizing goal. That would at least mean the Pride would go home with the feel-good story of Pressley's return and a point against a playoff-bound team.

Orlando got its season finale off to a good start with a goal from Rachel Hill in the 24th minute. Seattle would score twice before the end of the first half. The Pride would not find the equalizer until Marta scored her team-best sixth goal of the season late in the game.

The Pride will likely want to forget this season. The team finished 4-16-3 on the season and finished in last place in the NWSL. This despite having world player of the year nominees Marta and Alex Morgan. Morgan ended up playing in only six games as she dealt with injuries and playing in the Women's World Cup. The Pride struggled to find their footing, losing eight of their first nine games. They went winless in their first 10 games before securing a road win over the Sky Blue on June 22.

It was a long season for Marc Skinner in his first year at the helm for the Pride.

But the season finale proved to be a celebration. Pressley's return, adding in Sydney Leroux's return from maternity leave a few weeks ago, saw the Pride look more like they would at full force.

The Pride will have to wait until next season to return to the field. They can walk off the season at least with a draw at home.
