ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla — Lake Brantley football is known for their unique offense, but this year their defense could be the headliners. The reason is the Harris twins. Both Andrew and Michael Harris are very talented linebackers and received many scholarship offers during their time at Lake Brantley.

What You Need To Know

  • Lake Brantley football has a pair of talented linebackers

  • They have seen a lot of scholarship offers

  • They committed to UCF

This summer, Andrew and Michael decided where they wanted to play. They chose UCF because of the coaching staff and the location.

“The reason is that it’s close to home and coach T-Will (defensive coordinator Travis Williams) taught me a lot,” said Michael. “It felt like home there.”

“Coach (Gus) Malzahn is a great coach, Coach (Kenny) Ingram (defensive end coach) is a great coach,” said Andrew.

But they won’t be the first twins committing to UCF. Since 2010, they are the fourth set of twins to commit to the Knights. They will join Jordan and Justin McCray, Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin and current players Ja’Cari and Demari Henderson to wear the black and gold.

“UCF is going to win big because by having these two in the program because their best is yet to come, they just started playing football,” said first-year head coach Skip Clayton.

“Freshman year is the first year playing the game,” said Andrew.

“First time I ever got into the sport, it just drove me to do better and better,” said Michael.

Andrew and Michael grew up in Jamaica running track and playing soccer. When they came out to try out for football, it wasn’t what they expected.

“Actually, I thought the game was soccer,” said Andrew. “I never thought football was this.”

“We didn’t know nothing about it. I thought the field goal post was a soccer post,” said Michael.

Andrew and Michael certainly have a passion for football. The gifted athletes have adapted to the sport easily.

“What I love about the game is family,” said Andrew.

“It’s something about the sport that I feel the fire inside me to make every play,” said Michael. “Now I want to learn more about the sport.”

“They still have so much still lift to gain by playing and they are going to be amazing in the future,” said Clayton.
