A local non-profit is targeting religious organizations to promote voting within the Hispanic community.

What You Need To Know

  • Pastor Abel Morrebel is working with local nonprofits to encourage voting

  • His church is working with a local Hispanic non-profit to get people interested

  • He aims to get people to make important decisions in the ballot box

Pastor Abel Morrobel is partnering with the non-profit and non-partisan coalition: Hablamos Español Florida. Morrobel is having his church, Iglesia Adventista Del Septimo Dia, be a part of one of their newest initiatives, Vota Con Fe, which translates to Vote With Faith. It’s a campaign asking Hispanics to not just vote, but to vote with purpose.

Morrobel said, “People have the power in their hands but sometimes they don’t know how to use it and we want to tell them what is the importance of that and also what are the implications of the decisions they make, so it’s a type of education.”

The Florida primary election is on August 23rd. The last day to register to vote for that is July 21st. Vote With Faith stems from the campaign Vacunate Con Fe, which means: Vaccinate With Faith. That campaign helped get 5,000 people COVID shots in 2021.
