Tucked deep within St. Cloud is a reserve housing big cats, nearly 20 tigers, lions, cougars and leopards. The man in charge happens to be a volunteer, going nose to nose with the regal creatures.

1. Dr. K. “Simba” Wiltz is the CEO and Senior VP for Central Florida Animal Reserve.

2. When the canine distemper broke out in early 90s and lions were dying, Dr. Simba wanted to learn more about disease. So he entered the world of pharmacy, and he now runs one of the largest specialty pharmacies in the country.

3. “Whether it is that I'm working in my professional career in healthcare or doing this kind of work [at the animal reserve], the binding factor is service,” he told us, while preparing chicken snacks backstage for the big cats.

4. The Central Florida Animal Reserve was in Brevard Country, and recently moved to St. Cloud.

5. The Reserve is hosting a special event to engage regulars and newbies. It's a Summertime Sip 'N' Stroll Sunday, May 15 with an Afternoon Tour at 2:45pm and a Twilight Tour at 6 p.m.
