You might remember, Vince Vaughn filmed a movie in the area last year, and “The Binge” is premiering with a special showing at the Fairgrounds' Orange Lot.

What You Need To Know

  • "The Binge" premiered at the Orange Lot drive-in on Thursday

  • The movie was shot throughout Central New York last year and is available on Hulu

  • Vince Vaughn stars with thousands of local extras

  • American High has released five films made in CNY this year

“You know, we’ve never done a movie premiere quite like this," said producer Jeremy Garelick. "But I really applaud the people of Syracuse for coming out and tonight is really about them. These guys worked really hard to make this movie and we had tremendous support.”

Not every cast member is an A-list star. Thousands of Central New Yorkers are making their movie debut.

T was working on set and got called in for a hot scene, so he got a front row spot at the drive-in to see himself larger than life.

“I’m considered background in this, too," said T. "You know, I’m not really one of the actors or anything. I’m a background.”

The Binge was shot throughout Central New York last year.

There are scenes from Hanover Square, the old Carnegie Library, and Liverpool neighborhoods.

It gives Salt City natives, like T, hometown pride.

“It's great to see Syracuse being pushed on a national level, because Syracuse is a beautiful town," said T. "And I think by exposing it, I think you’ll be able to expand the film industry because there are so many great locations to work on.”

This is American High’s fifth movie filmed in the area released this year. It’s about a night when drugs and partying are legal. T’s big break comes in the flamethrower scene.

“But it came out really good," said T. "Three takes, you know, so not too bad.”

Hundreds watched the premiere from their cars and lawn chairs.

Thursday was the only chance to see your friends on the big screen.

“The Binge" is available on Hulu.
