ORLANDO, Fla. — Epic Universe, Universal’s upcoming theme park in Orlando, is taking shape.

What You Need To Know

Construction is well underway on the new park, which is expected to open in 2025. And when it does, it will feature four themed lands, attractions based on different entertainment franchises, shops, restaurants and more.

Video from Sky 13 this week shows just how much progress has been made in the last few months. Buildings, roller coaster tracks and landscaping are all visible on the 750-acre property, which is situated just across the road from the Orange County Convention Center.

Universal previously confirmed that its new Orlando park will feature Super Nintendo World. (A version of the land opened at Universal Studios Hollywood in California earlier this year with a Mario Kart attraction.) But attractions for lands that haven’t been officially announced are also visible on the construction site, including a dual track launch coaster.

The park will also have hotels, which now have visible exterior design elements. Although Universal hasn’t officially announced any details, names and concept art for two hotels on the property leaked in early November.

Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando’s fourth park, making up the south campus of the resort. Universal’s existing parks—Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano make up the north campus.

It was first announced 2019 and initially expected to open in 2023, but the pandemic led to construction delays.

Universal executives have previously said that the Epic Universe will be the most “technologically advanced park” the company has ever done.
