BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will host a special panel called “Star Trek: Where Science Meets Imagination” on Friday.

The panel will explore how science fiction has inspired real-life space exploration projects and mission.

“Franchises like ‘Star Trek’ have also influenced and inspired scientists, engineers and other professionals at NASA to join the space field, the visitor complex said in a news release.

Panelists will include Jess Bush, a visual artist and actress on “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds;” Morgan Gendel, a screenwriter on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine;” and A.C. Charania, NASA chief technologist.

The panel is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the visitor complex’s Universe Theater. It is included with admission to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.

The panel comes a day before Saturday's CRS-28 launch, whcih will carry solar array technology science experiements and supplies to the International Space Station.
