ORLANDO, Fla. β€” The Central Florida Crusaders are the National Indoor Soccer League's newest expansion team, the league announced Thursday.

The new team will play in Orlando at Addition Financial Arena on the University of Central Florida campus, the NISL said.

According to the league, a men's and women's team will play home and away games on the same day.

The Crusaders are the second team in Florida to join the league this year. The first to be announced was the Tampa Bay Strikers.

"We’re very excited to bring indoor soccer back to Central Florida,” Crusaders Managing Partners Andrew Haines said. "Having a natural rivalry for our two expansion teams is ideal for the growth of the NISL, as we head into our second season."

More information will be revealed at a news conference on Aug. 11.

NISL teams will compete in a 20-game schedule for the 2022-23 season. The league was founded in January 2021.
