ORLANDO, FLA – Dribble by dribble. Play by play.

That’s the approach Bishop Moore point guard Hunter Cattoor carries with him every drill, practice and game.

“Just take what you can take,” Cattoor said after a Friday afternoon practice. “Don’t make things complicated.  My whole life is making the right play. Making the right pass.”

His whole career has been about making the right play, but it didn’t come easy. Every year the Wofford commit adds something new to his repertoire all for the sake of winning.

“I think the amazing thing about his stats is his scoring from his sophomore to his junior year went down, everyone else’s scoring went up and our won more games,” said Hornets Head Coach Jim Yarborough. “That’s just the type of kid he is.”

This year he’s emerged into a leader by example. So far his example has been perfect with Bishop Moore out to a 12-0 start on the season, their best start in school history. For Cattoor, the offseason progress has made his final season on Edgewater Drive even sweeter.

“It’s good just knowing the work we’re doing as a team and as a player working in the offseason trying to take my game to another level.”

“He earned it,” Yarborough said. “Everything he’s gotten he’s earned. He’s been blessed but he’s earned a lot too.”

He’s earned his rank along with it. Cattoor is the team’s leader in most major statistical categories including scoring. As special as his senior season has been, the only thing that matters is winning.

“I’d rather not score and win than score a lot in a losing effort,” Cattoor said. “We’re halfway through the season so we can’t really celebrate anything right now.”

For the senior guard, there’s only one thing worth celebrating; a state championship. It’s a feat that’s alluded Cattoor and Bishop Moore.

“You win these awards and stuff like that,” Cattoor said. “My main goal in high school is to win a state championship. All that could happen but that’s my main goal.”
