Orlando City will open its fifth season in MLS against rival NYCFC at Orlando City Stadium on March 2. Kick off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

MLS announced the home openers for all 24 of its teams ahead of the 2019 season.

This marks the third time in five season Orlando will meet its 2015 expansion sister franchise in the season opener. The Lions hosted NYCFC in the teams' first-ever MLS match at the Citrus Bowl in 2015 in front of 62,510 fans. The game ended in a 1-1 draw after Kaka made a free kick on the game's final kick. In 2017, Orlando City came away with a 1-0 victory in the first-ever match at Orlando City STadium.

Last year was not nearly as kind to the Lions against their rivals. Orlando City failed to score in all three games against NYCFC dropping all three games and giving up multiple goals in each match.

Orlando City also learned its second match will be against the Chicago Fire on March 9 at 1 p.m. at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. The rest of the schedule will be released at a later date.

Orlando City, as part of its home opener also announced several kickoff events including the team's annual Purple Pride 5K scheduled for Feb. 23 and the annual Pub Crawl in Downtown Orlando on March 1.
