The Cocoa Tigers advanced to the Class 4A State Championship Game for the second straight year, scoring late in the fourth quarter for a 32-31 win over Ft. Lauderdale University.

Cocoa scored 15 straight points int he second half after Kenneth Macintosh took a screen 28 yards to the house for a 31-17 lead in the second half.

First year coach Ryan Schneider said the expectation for the program was to bring back state championships. Their mettle was tested needing to come back.

Diego Arroyo cut the lead in half with a third-quarter touchdown run. And it was Arroyo finding Jamari Williams for the go-ahead score late in the game. Arroyo finished with three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.

The Tigers will get a rematch with Jacksonville Raines. The Vikings defeated the Tigers 13-10 in last year's game. The Class 4A State Championship Game will be Thursday at Camping World Stadium.

In other action in the area, Edgewater fell to Lakeland 56-21 in the Class 7A state semifinals.
