TAMPA, Fla. — UCF won the War on I-4 against USF in a win that is bittersweet, as the team's star quarterback is badly hurt.
The Knights beat the Bulls 38 to 10 Friday in Tampa. The Bulls still lead the War on I-4 series 6-4, but this is the Knights' second straight win.
McKenzie Milton, star quarterback for No. 9 UCF (10-0, 7-0 AAC) suffered a severe leg injury during the second quarter of the annual UCF vs. USF game in Tampa Friday.
He was carted off the field and taken to a nearby hospital. His status is currently unknown. UCF will only say that his family is with him.
Backup QB Darriel Mack Jr. led the team to a 38 to 10 win Friday in Tampa. The Bulls still lead the War on I-4 series 6-4, but this is the Knights' second straight win.
USF (7-4, 3-4 AAC) also played without its startup quarterback Blake Barnett, who has a shoulder injury, relying on two of their backup quarterbacks.
